Airport Customer Experience Specialist

Council for Airport Opportunity (CAO) is a non-profit organization that supports the airport community with its talent acquisition needs. CAO has a proven track record for sourcing and staffing the right talent for top companies at JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia Airports. The Airport Customer Experience Specialist (ACES) will work onsite at EWR Airport.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility in assigned airport terminals and adjacent areas to maximize engagement with travelers and continually offer greetings, information, and directions
  • Proactively assist travelers with navigating the airport layout and provide directions to transportation, destinations, and other requested information using company issued iPads
  • Assist persons with disabilities including those in wheelchairs or other mobility devices in a kind, courteous, and customer-facing manner
  • Communicate knowledge of transportation options including taxis, ride share, parking, rental cars, and public transportation to travelers
  • Actively report unwanted behaviors such as soliciting, smoking, loitering, disorderly conduct, and unsafe conditions to management and airport police via established communication methods
  • Serve as a visible uniformed deterrent while circulating through assigned terminals to deter unwanted activity
  • Respond to emergency situations following established protocol
  • Report all activities and metrics through usage of smart devices including iPad, phone, and radio
  • Maintain a friendly and positive environment in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in hospitality or customer service
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently — additional language skills are a plus
  • Must have the physical capacity to stand and walk continuously during 8-10 hour shifts
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions with provided inclement weather gear
  • Must be available to work 24/7 including weekends and holidays
