About this Job



The Lakefront Management Authority manages, controls, regulates, operates, and maintains any non-flood protection facility or improvement asset or function within a levee district within the jurisdiction of a flood protection authority.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in aviation fuel operations, large-scale storage/distribution of flammable or toxic chemicals, industrial safety or compliance, environmental response, or refinery/terminal operations; OR

An associate's degree in one of the following fields: an environmental or fire science, industrial or occupational safety, industrial, petroleum or process technology, or aviation maintenance plus one year of experience in aviation fuel operations, large-scale storage/distribution of flammable or toxic chemicals, industrial safety or compliance, environmental response, or refinery/terminal operations; OR

Twelve semester hours in a petroleum or chemical engineering field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

This position works directly with the Airport Fuel Manager in all activities related to the operation of the New Orleans Lakefront Airport Fuel Terminal, including receipt, distribution, storage, operations, and maintenance of petroleum products, jet fuel, and other gases and products. This position is responsible for the daily maintenance and assists with the preventive maintenance of the Fuel Farm.

  • Follows procedures for storage and distribution of fuels that comply with LMA policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records, reports, and work orders, inventory reports, maintenance reports, etc., on all receipts and distribution of fuels, spills, maintenance, or repair activities, etc.
  • Clean-up of fuel spills.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities/systems.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. However, the position will only be filled at the Airport Technician 3 level for this job posting.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
