Airport Maintenance Specialist

The team at the Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field (YKM) works daily to connect people, places and create experiences for the aviation industry and passengers traveling through Central Washington. This position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

MINIMUM CLASS REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two (2) yeaars related experience and/or training in heavy equipment operations and/or mechanical maintenance. Experience in an airport, aviation or airfield environment is preferred.

Must successfully pass criminal background check; employment history verification and obtain and maintain a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge. Must obtain and maintain an airport movement area drivers permit within 30 days from date of hire.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATES

Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license. Must be trained and certified annually as applicable in Airport Certification Manual (ACM) as required by Federal Aviation Administration.

The pay range listed for this position is establish through the City of Yakima’s Master Pay Ordinance in accordance with the Municipal Code and/or the applicable collective bargaining agreement. New employees generally start at step A with progression through the steps based on merit and successful performance evaluation.
