2ND SHIFT SCHEDULE: Four 10 hour days. Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday,
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This job performs routine maintenance and custodial work with lead responsibility in the physical maintenance of the airport’s buildings and grounds. Work involves planning, organizing, and performing maintenance work under the general supervision of the Director of Airport Operations and Maintenance.
1. Performs semi-skilled physical work in the maintenance and repair of airport facilities.
2. Operates a variety of airport maintenance equipment including but not limited to tractor, brush hog, mowers, backhoe, snow removal equipment, ramp sweepers, light vehicles, etc.
3. Performs snow and ice removal of runways, taxiways, aprons, and airport roadways when necessary. Performs ground maintenance tasks, including mowing, and brush removal, facilities maintenance and limited repairs.
4. Considerable knowledge of the proper procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the physical maintenance of buildings and grounds. Knowledge of airport traffic regulation and the practices followed in the care and operation of a variety of maintenance equipment.
5. Performs maintenance on airport grounds including mowing, picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles.
6. Inspects Airport’s buildings and grounds, evaluates and reports all safety hazards to immediate supervisor. As well as assists in coordinating corrective actions to mitigate hazards in accordance with the Airports Safety Risk Management Plan.
7. Recognizes, evaluates and corrects safety hazards or advises immediate supervisor of same.
8. Must be able to work rotating shift work and holidays. Responds to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency call for service.
KNOWLEDGE: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in airport building and grounds maintenance, work and operation of light to heavy duty automotive vehicles and construction equipment; or any equivalent combination of experience and training to perform such duties. Basic computer skills required.
Knowledge and proper use of fire extinguishers and the Airport Sprinkler System.
Knowledge of water pumps and basic industrial controls including PLC’s.

Pay: $17.50 - $21.50 per hour
