Airport Maintenance Technician II

Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician II, you’ll be a cornerstone of the airport’s operations, maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds to ensure safety and efficiency. Reporting to the Airport Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll tackle a variety of tasks, from equipment operation to facility repairs, and even lead others in their duties when needed. The regular schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday from 7am to 4pm but schedule is ultimately determined by the Airport Maintenance Supervisor and Airport Deputy Director.

Core Responsibilities:

• Facility Maintenance: Repair and upkeep of airport buildings, grounds, and airfield systems.
• Equipment Operation: Utilize and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, loaders, snow removal equipment, and other airport vehicles.
• Preventive Care: Perform inspections and routine servicing of airport grounds and facilities and implement plans to upkeep them.
• Weed Control: Implement methods like spraying and burning to maintain clear fences, gates, and culverts.
• Airfield Inspections: Conduct regular checks of lighting and other airfield systems to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Emergency Response: Support airport emergencies as outlined in the airport emergency plan.
• Snow Removal: Operate specialized equipment during winter events and respond promptly when on-call.
• Building Repairs: Maintain hangar doors, sprinklers, landscaping, and terminal cleanliness.
• Leadership: Supervise maintenance personnel during maintenance activities in the supervisor’s absence.

Your Qualifications:

• Experience: Two years of general maintenance and heavy equipment operation. Previous aviation experience is preferred.
• Skillset: Understanding of electrical, plumbing systems, and general building repair. Operation of heavy equipment or large commercial vehicles.
• Licenses: Valid Colorado Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $28.90 per hour
