The Airport Manager is responsible for the overall administration,
operation, maintenance, and development of the municipal airport. This
position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations,
promotes safe and efficient airport operations, manages tenant and user
relations, and oversees capital improvement projects and
revenue-generating activities.
## Examples of Duties

Direct day-to-day operations of the airport, including airfield,
terminal, hangars, and grounds.

Ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, KDHE, and other applicable
regulations.

Maintain airport safety, security, and emergency response
procedures.

Prepare and administer the airport budget; monitor revenues and
expenditures.

Manage leases, contracts, and agreements with tenants,
concessionaires, and service providers.

Seek and administer grants and funding for capital improvement
projects.

Oversee inspection, repair, and maintenance of runways, taxiways,
lighting, signage and facilities.

Plan, coordinate, and manage airport capital projects in
collaboration with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Serve as liaison between the airport, city leadership, FAA, state
agencies, and community stakeholders.

Promote airport use through marketing, public relations, and
community outreach initiatives.

Respond to and resolve concerns from airport users, tenants, and the
general public.

Supervise airport staff, contractors, and seasonal employees.

Provide training, performance evaluations, and ensure compliance
with city HR policies.
