Airport Project Manager - Dallas Fort Worth New

Summary

Geometrics Engineering is seeking a Project Manager with a strong Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) background to support terminal, facilities, and campus-wide infrastructure projects at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing one or more complex aviation facilities projects, including responsibility for scope, schedule, and budget in accordance with project documents, DFW Airport policies, and established procedures. Projects may include terminal renovations, building system upgrades, central utility infrastructure, tenant improvements, and other facilities-related capital improvements.

Project Managers are expected to manage projects from Schematic Design development through design, construction, and project closeout.


Responsibilities

  • Administer one or more assigned projects, including responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance in accordance with contract documents and established procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate all design and construction support activities for assigned facilities and terminal projects.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordination for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, including HVAC, power distribution, emergency power, building automation systems, fire protection, and related infrastructure.
  • Oversee design consultants to ensure design services remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Lead and manage the design review process to ensure comments are properly tracked, addressed, and resolved in accordance with established timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare weekly Project Status Reports and other required project documentation.
  • Utilize DFW-approved project management systems including Unifier, Primavera P6, BIM platforms, SharePoint, and other program management tools.
  • Coordinate project activities with airport stakeholders including airlines, tenants, DFW departments, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other partners.
  • Identify and proactively resolve project issues to maintain schedule and minimize risk to the Airport.
  • Work to prevent and resolve claims through proactive coordination, clear documentation, and effective project management practices.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to senior management and/or DFW Design, Code, and Construction (DCC) Department detailing project progress, key accomplishments, issues, and overall project status.
  • Review and participate in the evaluation and negotiation of change orders, claims, and revisions to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist DFW-DCC, as requested, in the preparation of RFQs and RFPs and provide technical support during procurement processes.
  • Participate in negotiations of design and construction services, consultant fees, and contract modifications and provide recommendations for acceptance by DFW-DCC.
  • Work closely with Construction Managers, design consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully and aligned with DFW Airport goals and operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or registration as an Architect preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing building or infrastructure projects of similar size, type, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in large facilities, terminals, hospitals, campuses, or complex commercial buildings.
  • Experience with aviation facilities projects is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA-cleared badge at DFW Airport.
  • Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license and be able to obtain certification to operate vehicles within the DFW Air Operations Area (AOA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines.

Pay Range

$130,000 - $175,000 USD
