Join our early childhood education team as an AL First Class Pre-K Lead Teacher, where your passion for nurturing young minds will inspire a love of learning and foster holistic development. Your expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong success by guiding children through critical early learning milestones with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards using Creative Curriculum and Frogstreet Curriculum.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect, cooperation, and curiosity.
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, coaches and specialists to support children’s individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD, ASQ-3, and E-DECA.
- Incorporate Conscious Discipline principles to enhance classroom management and social emotional learning opportunities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, curriculum development, and best practices in preschool education.
Requirements
- Proven classroom experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or private school setting.
- Maintain yearly DHR licensing CCDF training, Food Handlers certification, and 20 hours of child development training.
- Must pass the DHR licensing required criminal background check and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry check
- Familiarity with classroom management tools and methods from Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discilpline to create an organized learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, staff, and community partners.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education or related field; additional training in special education or Montessori methods is a plus.
