Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Alabama-based Psychiatrist MD/DO working remotely in collaboration with Nurse Practitioners (NPs). This flexible, part-time role offers the opportunity to provide expert psychiatric care across diverse patient populations, including children, adults, and geriatrics. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and behavioral health interventions.
- Collaborate remotely with Nurse Practitioners to oversee patient care, review medical documentation, and support clinical decision-making.
- Manage medication regimens, monitor treatment progress, and adjust prescriptions as needed in accordance with best practices and HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide accessible mental health services to diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities or PTSD.
- Engage in crisis management by responding promptly to urgent patient needs and coordinating appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document intake assessments, and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
Experience
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid licensure to practice psychiatry in Alabama.
- Post-residency experience in psychiatric settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or inpatient units.
- Proven expertise in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, or behavioral health is highly desirable.
- Strong background in working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing PTSD or addiction issues.
- Experience utilizing telehealth technology for remote patient care is preferred.
- Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other psychotherapy modalities.
