Algebra Teacher

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Algebra Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year to inspire students in mastering fundamental and advanced mathematical concepts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for mathematics, develop engaging lesson plans, and support students’ academic growth. The ideal candidate will teach both Algebra 1 (AG) and Algebra 2 (AG) classes for 90-minutes, once-weekly, for 17 weeks per semester. Additionally, the candidate will supervise on-site, self-directed learning of homeschooled student, providing all-subjects tutoring upon request to students grades 5-12.

<Responsibilities>

• Design and deliver engaging lessons in algebra, including topics such as linear equations, inequalities, quadratic functions, and systems of equations.
• Develop comprehensive curricula that incorporate current educational standards and innovative teaching methods.
• Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and standardized exams, providing timely feedback to support learning.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment.
• Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school initiatives.
• Provide math and general tutoring to students upon request during 1-hour, quiet self-directed learning sessions.

• Strong expertise in algebra along with related areas such as trigonometry, geometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations.
• Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design principles to create effective lesson plans.
• Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds, including homeschool students
• Proficiency in using learning technology platforms and digital resources for instruction.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• Classroom management skills to maintain an organized and respectful learning environment.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring techniques to support student success.
• Background in higher education teaching or research laboratory experience is a plus for enriching classroom content.
