Job description:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Alpine Truss Senior Designer to join our expanding construction team in Cedar Hill, Texas. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise with Alpine Software and a strong background in structural design. This full-time position offers the chance to create accurate, innovative, and efficient design solutions for residential and commercial projects, while supporting the continued success and development of our company.

Responsabilities:

  • Design and develop structural components, including trusses and wall panels, using Alpine Software while ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable building codes.
  • Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings, bid packages, and project specifications to deliver accurate design results.
  • Prepare precise material take-offs and cost estimates to assist with project budgeting and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to provide practical, timely, and effective design solutions.
  • Maintain complete project documentation, manage revisions, and process change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce and submit shop drawings, submittals, and layout packages within established deadlines.

Skills:

  • Proven proficiency in Alpine Software (required) for both structural design and estimating.
  • Strong capability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and consistently meet tight project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with estimating programs or digital takeoff tools is considered an advantage.

Education and experience:

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in construction design or estimating, with a focus on structural systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wood framing techniques and truss design principles.
  • Field experience or practical exposure to framing installation is highly valued.
  • Degree or coursework in drafting, construction technology, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is an asset but not required.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
