Drive assigned vehicle in a safe manner and obey all traffic laws. Transport passengers according to the schedule received and instructions dispatched from the ATS Coordinator and/or dispatcher. Make sure that all passengers are safely secured with the necessary restraint systems and/or seat belts. Conduct daily vehicle inspections as outlined on the check off sheet and report any needed repairs to the ATS Coordinator immediately. Must maintain good physical health, possess adequate eyesight and hearing to meet state standards, must pass an initial employment drug screen, criminal background check, and company lift test. Maintain a good driving record. Must have the ability to operate manual passenger doors and wheelchair lifts. Must have the ability to assist elderly and/or frail or otherwise disabled passengers. Must have the ability to assist wheelchair-bound passengers to include the ability to push or pull them up or down ramps and across various terrains and surfaces. Wheelchair-passenger combinations may weigh as much as six hundred pounds. Maintain the assigned vehicle, supplies and equipment in a state of operational readiness and in a clean, presentable manner. Maintain awareness of patient’s emotional and physical needs. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and ambulette service data. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
