How You Will Make an Impact
A Welder/Fabricator is responsible for complete fabrication, assembly & welding of raw steel & aluminum into manufactured bodies. Included, but not limited to, cutting & forming raw materials into parts, welding parts together, reading & understanding build sheets & standard work instructions for the various products we manufacture.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Welding steel and aluminum
- Measuring and cutting raw materials to specifications
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components for flaws
Required Credentials
- Ability to read and interpret build sheets and work instructions
- Ability to work overtime and varied shift assignments if necessary
- All Welders are required to wear a form of respirator. Successful completion of pre-employment respirator testing is required.
Education / Certifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Internal or External Weld Certification required
Experience:- Welding – may be required to MIG, TIG, or Fluxcore Welding (Steel and Aluminum)
- Manufacturing industry or background experience preferred
- Tier 2 = 3-6 yrs. | Tier 3 = 7-10 yrs. | Tier 4 = 10+ yrs with consideration of level of welding capability and complexity of work
Skills and Abilities:- Ability to hold and use Weld gun in vertical, lateral, and overhead positions.
- Ability to pass Steel Weld Test
- Ability to pass tape measure testing
