Aluminum Welder/Fabricator

Falls Point Marine has an opening for a Production Aluminum Fabricator/Welder to work the welding division at our fabrication shop in Gardiner, Maine.

For 20 years Falls Point Marine (FPM) has designed and constructed waterfront solutions throughout Casco Bay. We specialize in saltwater docks for residential applications. This position requires a self-motivated and independent individual who takes great pride in cutting, assembling, welding, and finishing custom products with an emphasis on quality and consistency.

The desired candidate will have a solid welding and fabrication skillset and also be willing to learn new ones. Knowledge of work methods, techniques, materials, and tools used in metal and wood fabrication is required. At times the person in this position will repair and maintain steel and other materials on marine-related equipment as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

- 5 years of prior aluminum fabrication experience or equivalent preferred. Experience in TIG and MIG aluminum welding is essential.

- Capable of executing welds in all positions.

- Must be able to work independently much of the time.

- Able to read drawings and blueprints.

- Able to layout, fit-up and form material.

- Experience with milling machines, lathes, ect. a plus.

- Occasional non welding tasks as required working with the Falls Point team.

- Responsible for shop maintenance and cleaning.

- As part of the interview process, a welding proficiency test will be administered.

- Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
