Aluminum Welder/Fabricator - EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

JOB DESCRIPTION

Charlotte Tent and Awning has been a Charlotte landmark since 1884. We manufacture custom shade products for commercial and residential customers around the Southeast. We build canvas and metal awnings, sun shades, canvas canopies, metal canopies, louvers, screens, pergolas and other architectural designs. Every job is custom built and welded from a blueprint out of thin aluminum. (some steel)

We want to pay our employees what their skills are worth so we developed a way to do that; it is based on skill, experience and work history. We conduct a weld and fabrication test as part of the interviewing process and rate each candidate based on their weld test results; this determines your starting pay. Our employees receive constructive evaluations where they are given an opportunity to receive feedback on performance and an increase in pay if warranted.

*We are looking for an EXPERIENCED aluminum fabricator. If you have never welded and fabricated with aluminum you will not be considered.

Must haves:

FABRICATION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - MIG AND TIG ALUMINUM WELDING WORK EXPERIENCE.

MUST BE ABLE TO USE SHOP TOOLS.

MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE AND DETERMINE ANGLES .

MUST BE ABLE TO READ BLUEPRINTS.

GOOD ATTITUDE!

SELF MOTIVATED!

MUST WORK WELL INDEPENDENTLY AND WITH OTHERS!

Pay: up to $26.00 per hour - depends on experience and results of a weld test.

Paid weekly.

Overtime when available.

Normal schedule is Monday-Friday 5:30am-2pm. Sometimes this is extended until 3pm or 4pm.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per weekly.
