Product Finalization
Amazon PMs follow a structured approach to finalize a product before launch, ensuring alignment with customer needs, business goals, and quality standards:
- Customer Validation Loop – Use beta testing, usabilit-y sessions, and feedback mechanisms (like CX metrics or NPS) to confirm the product solves the intended problem.
- Data-Driven Readiness Review – Validate that all KPIs (latency, conversion, adoption rate, etc.) meet target thresholds before green-lighting launch.
- PR-FAQ & Working Backwards Review – Refine the Press Release (PR) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to ensure clarity of customer value and operational feasibility.
- Go/No-Go Checklist – Conduct structured reviews across Tech, Legal, Security, and Operations to confirm that all dependencies are complete.
- Post-Launch Plan – Prepare instrumentation for metrics tracking, issue monitoring, and A/B testing after launch to ensure ongoing optimization.
- Leadership Principle Alignment – Reassess that the product reflects Amazon’s Leadership Principles (e.g., “Customer Obsession,” “Insist on the Highest Standards”).
