Join Our Team as a Non-Emergency Ambulance Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ambulance Dispatcher to serve as the primary communications link for our non-emergency medical transport operations. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient and timely coordination of resources, ensuring the safe and effective deployment of company assets and personnel.

Core Responsibilities

• Call Handling and Triage: Professionally answer all incoming non-emergency calls, effectively triaging each request to determine the appropriate level of response and resource allocation.
• Dispatching and Resource Management: Assign transport requests to the most suitable field units and provide clear, concise directions. You will maintain constant, accurate status of all field units to ensure operational efficiency and 100% compliance with company response time standards.
• Administrative and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records, including the reconciliation of patient care and trip reports. This role requires strict adherence to established protocols and policies, and the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding patient and company information.
• Scheduling and Staffing Coordination: Assist in ensuring all scheduled shifts are optimally covered, including managing open shifts by contacting available personnel as required.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience: Previous experience in a dispatching, call-taking, or related role is essential, preferably within a medical or transportation setting.
• Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional under high-stress conditions.
• Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and standard office software.
• Comprehensive geographic knowledge of the company's service areas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Work is performed on assigned shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
