Duties

  • Receive and prioritize service calls using multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and conflict management skills.
  • Gather essential information from callers through clear, compassionate communication, including medical details, location data, and transport specifics.
  • Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology to accurately pinpoint locations and dispatch the nearest available units promptly.
  • Dispatch ambulance units efficiently by analyzing real-time data, ensuring efficient deployment while maintaining safety protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records of all calls and dispatch activities through accurate data entry, transcription, and documentation practices utilizing Patriot's Management System.
  • Monitor ongoing service status and provide continuous updates as situations evolve.

Skills

  • Strong analysis skills to assess call details quickly and determine appropriate response actions.
  • Expertise in dispatching procedures combined with proficiency in using GPS and GIS and Computer Assisted Management systems for precise location tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey clear instructions under pressure while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with calmness, utilizing conflict management and negotiation techniques when needed.
  • Proficient typing speed for efficient data entry and transcription of call details.
  • Knowledge of EMS protocols related to the transport environments and multi-line phone systems. Pay: From $17.00 per hour
