1. Safe Emergency Vehicle Operation
- Operate ambulances safely, efficiently, and in compliance with UAE traffic laws, ensuring timely arrival at emergency scenes and healthcare facilities.
- Maintain control of the vehicle under all conditions, including high-pressure response situations, using defensive and emergency driving techniques.
2. Patient Transportation & Assistance
- Transport patients to and from medical facilities, emergency sites, clinics, or hospitals with care and professionalism.
- Assist EMTs, paramedics, or nurses with loading/unloading patients, securing stretchers, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during transit.
3. Ambulance Readiness & Maintenance
- Perform pre-shift inspections of the ambulance — checking fuel, oil, tires, lights, sirens, and safety equipment.
- Keep the ambulance clean, organized, and stocked, ensuring all medical and emergency gear is functional and accessible.
- Report any vehicle issues or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
4. Compliance with Safety Standards
- Hold a valid UAE driving license suitable for operating emergency vehicles and complete any required road-safety or ambulance-specific training. Department of Health Abu Dhabi

5. Communication & Coordination
- Maintain clear and professional communication with the emergency medical dispatch center, EMT/paramedic crew, and receiving medical facilities.
- Understand and work within Abu Dhabi’s EMS system and protocols to support coordinated emergency responses.
6. Record-Keeping and Reporting
- Keep detailed transport logs, including times, destinations, vehicle checks, and patient hand-off details.
- Report incidents, near-misses, injuries, or equipment failures to the appropriate authority promptly.
7. Basic Support During Emergencies
- Provide basic first aid assistance, such as helping with oxygen equipment or monitoring patients during transit when required and within scope of training. Velents

8. Professional Conduct
- Represent the ambulance service professionally, staying calm, respectful, and compassionate with patients and families.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality, as ambulance operations require 24/7 readiness.
Skills & Requirements (Typical for Abu Dhabi EMS Roles)
- Valid UAE driving license with ambulance.
- Proven experience driving emergency or light vehicles; prior ambulance driver experience preferred.
- Basic first aid / BLS certification is an advantage.
- Strong sense of responsibility, time management, and teamwork skills.
