Drives ambulance to transport patients to/from hospital and other
institutions. Responsible for the safe transportation of the patients
and ambulance crew. Assists crew with transporting patients into
ambulance. Helps perform shutdown procedures and documentation of runs.
**Essential Job Functions:**

Drives an ambulance in compliance with State and local traffic laws.

Transports patients and ambulance crew safely to/from hospitals and
other healthcare instutions.

Determines ambulance speed and emergency driving conditions for
transporting patients and crew.
-
May lift and tranfers patients between beds and stretchers assisted
by the EMT.
-
Assist crew transferring patients from residence to ambulance.
-
Lifts patients into and out of the ambulance and positions them
securely in the ambulance with the assistance of the EMT.

Notifies and communicates with ambulance dispatcher by telephone or
radio regarding transport, ETA, change of routes, delay, etc.

Assists ambulance crew when necessary in restraining patients as
needed.

Assists at accident scenes as instructed or stops at encountered
accident scenes or other emergencies and provides care as needed and

Drivers are assigned shifts of on-call and will be available to
report for service within guidelines and standards of the EMS rules.
Restocks the vehicle and equipment after each run.

Participates in cycle of checking and remove/replace outdated
supplies and medications.

Vehicle and equipment checklist will be completed after every run.

Completes necessary documentation, reports and logs.
-
Reports necessary repairs, concerns to Coordinator and/or
appropriate personnel.

Performs duties within the scope as instructed by EMT or EMS
Coordinator.

Attends or reviews information from all EMS meetings.

Participates in appropriate trainings.

Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at
all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.

Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in
writing and on telephone.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

Current driver\'s license in good standing
-
Must be able to work varying schedules and be on-call.
**Work Environment:**

St Mary\'s and Clearwater Valley Health operates 24 hours per day
each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require
that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to
meet the needs of the patients.

St. Mary\'s and Clearwater Valley Health Clinic locations haver
operation hours based on locations and patient needs therefore
availability to work all clinic shifts, weekends and holidays as
appropriate for location will be expected and required.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
**Physical Requirements:**

Must be able to maintain a standing or sitting position.

Typical equipment used in a clinical job.

Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy
equipment up to 50 pounds.

Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed
and handwritten materials.

May be required to assist in patient transfer.
-
Potential exposure to needles, blook and body fluids, etc.
-
Potential exposure to chemicals and blood borne pathogens.
-
Work with equipment and computers (keyboarding).
