American Sign Language Interpreter (Freelance)

Overview
We are a newly established nationwide language service company created by interpreters who decided to join forces with one purpose: to help families and businesses communicate clearly and confidently.

We are looking for 1 or 2 independent contractors / vendors who would like to join forces.

The ideal candidate will possess strong reading comprehension, can follow written instructions accurately, pay close attention to detail, and process information independently. This role is crucial in various settings, including business healthcare, legal, educational environments, etc....where clear and accurate interpretation is essential.

VoxaFi is 100% remote company, we rely heavily on vendors who can follow written instructions accurately, pay close attention to detail, and process information independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation services for individuals who are bilingual or multilingual.
• Translate written documents as needed by our clients to ensure clear understanding across language barriers.
• Bilingual Administrative assistance if needed by our clients.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding sensitive information.
• Collaborate with clients and professionals to ensure that all communication needs are met.
• Adapt techniques based on the context and audience to enhance understanding.

Skills

• Advanced fluent proficiency in at least 2 languages. Full command of both languages (speaking, listening, reading).
• Strong skills that allow for seamless communication in various settings.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to convey messages accurately.
• A solid foundation in linguistics to understand the intricacies of language structure and usage.
• Knowledge of interpretation Impartiality and neutrality, Confidentiality at all times, Accuracy without adding, omitting, or altering messages, and professional boundaries with clients.

Experience with:

At least 1 yr experience in Interpreting.

HIPAA Certifications or trainings and/or must or willing to obtain one.

Knowledge of FERPA regulations (student education records)
