Role Mission
The Americas Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing logistics costs, negotiating with carriers, driving improvement projects, and optimizing the balance between inventory holding costs and transportation lead times and expenses. Additionally, they collaborate with logistics service providers to create joint value and enhance supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Optimization: Analyze and optimize Americas logistics operations in collaboration with the Global Logistics team to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Transportation Coordination: Coordinating and managing shipping routes, selecting carriers, and ensuring timely delivery via ground, air, and ocean shipments with collaborations with Manufacturing/S&R/Planning/Scheduling group.

Supplier/Logistics Partners Relations: Manage partnership/relationship with freight forwarders, carriers, and agents to negotiate rates/surcharges and monitor performance regularly. Initiate monthly/quarterly review to establish reliable communication with logistics partners.

Documentation and Compliance: Oversee preparation of shipping, export, and customs documents as needed. Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and dangerous goods protocol. Assist on any customs delays issues to clear the receiving of the goods in Americas.

Technology Utilization: Evaluate manual logistics processes needing improvement and use of new technology to track shipments, manage inventory, optimize routing, solve supply chain disruptions.

Reporting/Logistics KPI Reports: Provide detailed reports related to logistics performance metrics to US Plants Director and escalate issues for immediate resolution.
Qualifications / Requirements
Primary Language
Fluent English; written and verbal communication
Experience
5+ years in domestic/international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain
Certifications
Dangerous Good Certification is a plus
Communication Skills
Effective coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
Organizational Skills
Strong attention to detail for tracking shipments, inventory, and schedules.
Analytical Problem-Solving
Ability to troubleshoot logistical issues and optimize supply chain operations.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in logistics software, inventory management systems, and transportation management tools.
Proficiency in SAP
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, transportation, or equivalent.
