Job Title: Analysis & Reporting Analyst – z Platform (Mainframe Chargeback & Financial Analytics)

Role Overview

The Analysis & Reporting Analyst is responsible for financial analytics, chargeback reporting, software asset tracking, and technical data analysis across the enterprise z Platform environment. This role bridges technical mainframe operations with Finance, Procurement, and IT Leadership by translating complex system data (SMF, SCRT, DASD, CPU usage, software consumption) into actionable financial insights.

The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in z Systems infrastructure, strong financial acumen related to chargeback models, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Serve as a trusted liaison between:

• z Systems Technical teams
• z Systems Storage teams
• z Systems Application teams
• Finance & Procurement
• IT Leadership

Translate technical platform data into financial reporting, forecasts, and business impact analysis.

z Platform Technical & Financial AnalysisPhysical Environment Expertise

• Analyze processor types and processing requirements.
• Understand DASD architecture and processing patterns.
• Evaluate hardware utilization trends and cost implications.

Logical Environment Expertise

• Understand APIs and system programming components and their CPU impact.
• Analyze LPAR definitions and workload distribution.
• Evaluate CICS, Db2, Network, and OS interactions from a chargeback perspective.

Mainframe Application Insight

• Assess how applications interact with system components.
• Interpret z System Account Codes and form processes.
• Support decommissioning analysis and reporting.

Chargeback & Financial Reporting

• Provide system and application data for:
• Financial chargeback reporting
• Cost Benefit Analyses (CBA)
• Proof of Concepts (POC)
• Process and validate SCRT data prior to submission.
• Interpret IBM, Broadcom, CA, and BMC billing reports.
• Perform z Platform software inventory reporting.
• Support TRM/ITCB submission and signoff processes.
• Analyze Rate Card cause-and-effect impacts on future processing.
• Perform data validation prior to Finance submission.
• Translate SMF data into financial outcomes.
• Rapidly adjust automation based on evolving SMF requirements.

Data & Reporting Systems

• Work extensively with:
• SMF data
• z System storage-specific processing
• zLinux concepts
• Develop and maintain chargeback databases.
• Support z Platform dashboard and centralized technical data initiatives.
• Develop reports based on system data patterns and trends.

Platform Processes & Governance

• Support Configuration Management CIs related to z Platform.
• Utilize TADz to answer detailed inventory and utilization questions.
• Understand RACF security implications in reporting.
• Manage software lifecycle tracking (PLM).
• Support Endevor processes and change controls.

Automation, AI & Continuous Improvement

• Utilize AI tools to analyze large volumes of platform data and recommend optimizations.
• Use M365 Copilot AI to recap meetings and draft documentation.
• Continuously evaluate AI capabilities applicable to system analytics.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Distributed Computing Responsibilities

• Maintain ASP.Net applications.
• Support PLM verification processes on x86 servers.
• Integrate distributed and mainframe data reporting where required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹194,588.49 - ₹1,029,073.79 per year
