Job Summary
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Analyst, Billing Compliance to support firmwide billing accuracy, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates who are local to New York City or Boston, and plays a critical role in ensuring client billing requirements are met while maintaining strong internal controls and cross-functional coordination across finance and legal operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all firmwide bills are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with client billing guidelines and internal firm procedures
- Review and audit new and existing matters to confirm compliance using appropriate billing system matter codes
- Partner with Conflicts, Terms, Pricing, eBilling, Timekeeping, and Collections teams to ensure matters are opened and maintained in accordance with firm and client standards
- Support process improvements within Intapp Open and Intapp Time
- Lead and support projects related to matter maintenance, billing compliance, and OCG compliance audits
- Communicate securely with billing attorneys and client service staff regarding billing requirements
- Respond to billing-related inquiries from attorneys, clients, and internal teams
- Prepare billing reports and support finance leadership as requested
- Collaborate with Financial Services on billing system updates and upgrades
- Assist with additional billing compliance and finance-related projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (preferred)
- 5+ years of legal billing experience (required)
- 5+ years of general accounting experience (required)
- 5+ years of financial systems experience (required)
- Advanced proficiency with legal accounting and billing systems, including Elite
- Advanced proficiency with document management systems
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Advanced proficiency with financial forecasting tools
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly within a legal environment
