Analyst, Loss Prevention

Job Purpose:
  • The Specialist, Loss Prevention at Goodwill Industries of Dallas Inc is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective loss prevention strategies to safeguard company assets, reduce shrinkage, and ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. This role involves collaborating with various departments to develop and enforce policies and procedures that mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential security risks and areas of vulnerability.
  • Develop and implement loss prevention programs and training sessions for employees to increase awareness and compliance.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and analyze data to detect and investigate incidents of theft, fraud, or misconduct.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other external partners to address and resolve security issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports on loss prevention activities, incidents, and outcomes for management review.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures related to safety and security.
  • Support store management in handling security-related incidents and emergencies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in loss prevention to continuously improve strategies and processes.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in loss prevention or asset protection within a retail environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing loss prevention strategies and reducing shrinkage.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and interviews related to theft and fraud.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of loss prevention techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Proficient in using surveillance systems and other security technologies.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and law enforcement.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
