Analyst, Operations Technology Support (IT)

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Operations Technology (OT) Support Analyst supports the day-to-day operation and reliability of OT systems that enable gas utility operations. This role provides technical assistance for systems, applications, and devices used by field personnel, control room staff, and business users. The Operations Technology (OT) Support Analyst ensures systems are functioning properly, support users in resolving issues, and assist with maintaining technology that supports safe, reliable, and efficient utility operations.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide first-level support for OT systems, applications, and user access.
  • Respond to and resolve basic technical issues related to system access, functionality, and performance.
  • Document issues and track requests using the company’s ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex or critical issues to senior OT or IT staff as needed.
  • Assist with identifying and troubleshooting connectivity issues affecting systems and users.
  • Support secure access for employees and vendors following established procedures.
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to help resolve system and communication issues.
  • Assist with monitoring system performance and availability.
  • Support the team during system incidents, outages, or emergency events.
  • Help validate system status and confirm restoration of services.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours support when required.
  • Assist with testing system updates, patches, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow established processes to support safe and controlled system changes.
  • Help document maintenance activities and results.
  • Assist in maintaining user guides, procedures, and support documentation.
  • Support onboarding and basic training for new users.
  • Follow company policies related to safety, cybersecurity, and technology use.
  • Work closely with OT, IT, and operations teams, as well as external vendors.
  • Participate in team meetings, projects, and training activities.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills related to OT systems and utility operations. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical training.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 0–2 years of experience in technical support, IT support, or a related role.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

  • Basic understanding of computer systems, applications, and troubleshooting concepts.
  • Exposure to utility operations, industrial systems, or field technology environments.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., connectivity, system access).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures, document work, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a technology and operations environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
