Analyst – Technology Services
Job Summary:
The Analyst – Technology Services provides support in analyzing business needs, troubleshooting issues, and implementing technology solutions. The role focuses on assisting teams in system enhancements, data analysis, and ensuring smooth delivery of IT services to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Experience in Firewall and Gateway Management:
Hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network firewalls and secure internet gateways. Skilled in implementing access control policies, VPNs, intrusion prevention, and monitoring network security traffic.
1. Firewall Operations & Monitoring:
- Monitor firewall logs, alerts, and security events using SmartConsole / SmartView.
- Assist in identifying, analyzing, and escalating security incidents.
- Perform basic firewall policy verification and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Check system health (CPU, memory, interfaces, HA sync status, VPN tunnels).
2. Policy & Rule Management:
- Assist in creating, modifying, and reviewing firewall rules as per change requests.
- Document and validate rule changes to ensure minimal business disruption.
- Remove or report unused/obsolete firewall rules (under senior review).
3. Security Administration:
- Support VPN setup (site-to-site and remote access) and basic troubleshooting.
- Perform user access reviews and assist with access provisioning requests.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and procedures.
4. Incident Handling & Troubleshooting:
- Perform first-level diagnosis of firewall-related connectivity issues.
- Escalate complex issues to senior admins or security engineers.
- Assist in applying vendor-recommended hotfixes or patches (under guidance).
5. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain updated records of firewall configurations and changes.
- Prepare daily/weekly security reports (traffic, blocked connections, threats).
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
6. Continuous Learning & Development:
- Stay updated with Checkpoint product features and threat advisories.
- Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Progress toward Checkpoint CCSA certification (if not already certified).
Skills & Competencies Required:
- Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, NAT, VPNs).
- Familiarity with Checkpoint SmartConsole tools.
- Knowledge of security principles (firewalls, IDS/IPS, threat prevention).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
Qualification: B.E, B.Tech, MCA
Experience: Minimum 4 years
