POSITION SUMMARY:
DuBois Chemicals is looking for a high performing Analytical Scientist to provide effective/efficient support to the field employees and organization. Responsible for the testing of oils and soap-based products received from customers. We are committed to ecologically responsible chemistry and are continuing to develop proprietary “green” products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide data from customer and internal samples, using various equipment and instruments to gather data
Perform testing on industrial lubricants, industrial cleaners, and conversion coating samples. Perform, pH, conductivity determination, wet chemical tests, IC, ICP, EDXRF, FTIR, viscosity, Karl Fisher Water, and other tests as needed.
Adhere to lab safety protocol, conduct other testing as required. Sample log in, report writing and data compilation skills are also necessary.
Perform pH, Viscosity, Oxidation, Karl Fisher, EDXRF, corrosion, and wet chemical tests on various products.
Maintain work order turnaround within the metrics established for assigned testing.
Maintain and keep logs for equipment certification, calibration, maintenance, and relevant standards.
Practice good lab procedures while focused on safety protocols.
Effectively prepare reports interpreting data gathered for customers.
Provide concise data for raw material evaluation and comparison and prepare reports interpreting results.
Develop methods for testing and identification of specific chemicals, ions, or mixtures, as requested.
Assist with sample receiving and distribution.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years’ experience in analytical, microbiological, or scientific laboratory preferred.
Experience with instrumentation and database management software preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail.
