Anchor/Reporter

Job Summary:

The Catholic Faith Network (CFN) is looking for experienced on-air Anchors/Reporters who thrive covering a range of stories from the Catholic perspective in the New York market.

Preferred candidates will have several years of anchoring and reporting experience, outstanding writing/verbal communications skills, possess a comprehensive understanding of television news production, and be able to handle live breaking news both in the studio and field.

Candidate must possess a working knowledge of Catholic Church teachings and traditions, and be comfortable on/off-air with clergy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong anchoring and reporting skills.
• Proficient at reading from a teleprompter.
• Ability to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations.
• Ability to handle working under deadlines with flexibility to adapt to last minute changes.
• Demonstrated ability to present scripts with clarity and energy.
• Proven record of contributing story ideas.

Experience, Credentials and Requirements:

• College degree in journalism, communications, or a relevant field preferred.
• Proficiency in all aspects of video production, including the operation of cameras (DSLR cameras), studio/field lighting, and video editing.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Working knowledge of social media platforms and related social media best practices.
• Attention to detail as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well organized with an ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to travel, which includes New York City, Brooklyn, and beyond.
• Flexibility in work hours. This includes weekdays and weekends including early hours or evening.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills / ability to work effectively with others as a team.
• Good planning skills; a detailed and systematic approach to projects.

Pay: $64,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
