We are looking for a talented Android developer to maintain and expand our suite of Android applications for our point-of-sale system.

Position Overview:

You'll be developing complex Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. You'll be collaborating with our design team to craft beautiful, intuitive interfaces and collaborating with our backend team to implement cloud-based functionality, as well as managing in-app data for local functionality. The applications are highly connected, and will be communicating with other iOS and Android applications, thermal and impact printers, credit card readers, and more over the local network and Bluetooth.

This is a full-time in-person role located in Sacramento, California.

Tech stack:

- Android

- Kotlin

- Typescript

- Jetpack Compose

- Kotlin Flows

- HTTP for backend communication

- OEM SDKs for a variety of physical hardware

Key Responsibilities:

- Write clean, maintainable code to add new functionality and expand existing functionality.

- Build beautiful and intuitive UIs.

- Collaborate with backend developers to design HTTP JSON APIs for use by frontend .

- Collaborate with our support team to investigate and troubleshoot bugs.

- Collaborate with sales and support to build features that meet the needs of existing and future customers.

- Rethink and rework existing code to minimize technical debt as the codebase grows.

Requirements:

- Highly proficient in developing Android applications

- Experience with Kotlin

- Experience with Jetpack Compose

- Experience with Kotlin Flows or an equivalent asynchronous framework

- Experience developing

- Self-motivated and able to thrive in with a high degree of autonomy and agency

Preferred:

- Experience developing tablet applications

- Experience interacting with hardware over network and Bluetooth

- Experience with Java

- Experience with Typescript

- Knowledge of git and Github

- Publicly available examples of your work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
