Job Summary

The Andrology Lab Technician is responsible for performing semen analysis, sperm preparation, cryopreservation, and related laboratory procedures while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with NABH/ICMR/ART guidelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Laboratory Duties

  • Perform semen analysis (count, motility, morphology, vitality) as per WHO standards
  • Handle sperm preparation techniques (wash, swim-up, density gradient)
  • Assist in IUI procedures and sample handling
  • Carry out sperm cryopreservation and thawing procedures
  • Maintain strict aseptic techniques in the lab
  • Prepare reagents, media, and lab consumables
  • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of samples

Quality & Compliance

  • Follow NABH / ART Act / ICMR guidelines strictly
  • Maintain quality control records and calibration logs
  • Participate in internal audits and quality improvement activities
  • Ensure adherence to biosafety and infection control protocols

Documentation & Records

  • Maintain laboratory registers, reports, and consent forms
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information
  • Update daily workload, results, and equipment usage records

Equipment & Safety

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (centrifuge, microscope, incubator, cryo tanks)
  • Report equipment malfunctions immediately
  • Follow biomedical waste management protocols

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and IVF team
  • Educate patients (when required) on sample collection procedures
  • Support senior embryologists/andrologists as required

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / M.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field
  • Diploma in Andrology / ART Technology (preferred)

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in Andrology / IVF laboratory preferred
  • Freshers with certified training may be considered

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of semen analysis and ART lab procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ethical handling of sensitive patient information
  • Good documentation and communication skills

Working Conditions

  • Laboratory-based, may require shift duties

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
