Anesthesia Consultant

We are establishing a new, high-quality fertility clinic in Riyadh and are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Consultant to join at launch this Summer. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a modern service from the ground up, with a clear focus on clinical excellence, outcomes, and patient experience.

Job Purpose / Objective

The Anesthesia Consultant is responsible for providing the highest standards of clinical care and expertise in pre-operative assessment of patients including pre-anesthesia consultations, management of intra-operative with the full range of anesthesia methods and techniques and post-operative care of patients with other assist of clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

· Responsible for explaining procedures and discussing diagnostic results or prescribed treatments with the patients and/or with the authorized attendants.

· Practices within the framework of clinically relevant and scientifically valid standards, guidelines

· Provides anesthesia with full range of anesthetic agents, methods and techniques, observing safety standards in the operating room as related to anesthetic agents and equipment.

· Maintains appropriate records of all patients receiving any type of anesthesia in accordance with established standards and based on monitoring of patient condition prior to, during and after anesthesia.

· Monitor the patient’s condition and progress and re-evaluate/ re-assessment and treat the patient accordingly.

· Supervises and maintains appropriate documentation on the “controlled drugs” for the division in procedure room.

· Takes appropriate therapeutic measures in emergency situations for assigned patients with post anesthesia complications.

· Document and ensure completeness of all medical records of the patients as per the policies of the center and update on the progress of the patient appropriately.

· Ensure the implementation of all approved policies, procedures, rules, regulations, protocols, guidelines and clinical pathways that guide and support the provision of clinical services.

· Obtain informed consent for all patients in accordance with hospital policy for the undertaking of any diagnostic procedure, operation, test or procedure.

· Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity

· Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Requirements

Education/ Professional Qualification

Graduate of Medical School, recognized by the Medical Council of the country of origin.

Membership, Fellowship and/or Board Certification in Anesthesia specialty.

Relevant licensure from the country of origin, acceptable to Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health

Registration in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and/or Current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia.

Experience

At least three (3) years of practice in his / her specialty after obtaining the higher degree in a Tertiary Care Hospital.

Competencies:

Fluent in verbal and written English.

Exhibits professionalism and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
