Position Summary

The Anesthesia Technician assesses the needs of the anesthesia care provider while preparing the surgical patient for anesthesia. He/she routinely cares for and prepares anesthesia supplies and monitoring equipmen

  • Education:

High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Training and Experience:
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
  • Texas CNA or EMT preferred.
  • ACLS encouraged
  • Certified Anesthesia Tech encouraged
  • Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire required
  • Successful completion of the Customer Service course within 3 months of hire required
  • Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer to department:
  • Connecting patients to monitors
  • Preparing IV set-up
  • Preparing invasive monitoring line set-up
  • Anesthesia machine set-up
  • Non-invasive line monitoring room set-up
  • Invasive line monitoring room set-up
  • Continuous cardiac output monitoring set-up
  • Assisting in placement of invasive lines
