Job Requirements:
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas
Accredited by the American Board of Anesthesiology (or foreign equivalency) and completion of a pediatric anesthesia fellowship, preferred.
BLS and PALS certification
Job Description:
Provide medical management of patients who are unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgical, invasive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures (involves preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative evaluation and treatment of these patients)
Responsible for the medical management of anesthetic procedures and of the patient during surgical, invasive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures following the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ guidelines for the Ethical Practice of Anesthesiology and Guidelines for Patient Care in Anesthesiology
Provide teaching/instruction for anesthesiology residents to learn and gain experience in working with the pediatric population
Participate in a planned program for evaluation of quality and appropriateness of patient care and resolving identified problems
Serve on committees and task forces as assigned
Participate in research efforts of a significant nature relevant to Scottish Rite for Children and its patients
Subject to and observe, as well as be in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations applicable to all physicians granted privileges by Scottish Rite
