Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist - Nocturnist to join our medical team. This role involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care during overnight shifts, ensuring patient safety and comfort across various inpatient and surgical settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, experience with diverse medical procedures, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Duties
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal sedation and pain management.
- Monitor vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels accordingly during procedures.
- Conduct preoperative assessments and evaluate patient health status to develop individualized anesthesia plans.
- Manage airway maintenance, ventilation support, and critical care interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care before, during, and after procedures.
- Document all anesthesia-related activities accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or other platforms.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects related to perioperative care and pain management.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols throughout all patient interactions.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in anesthesiology, including specialized areas such as neurocritical care, cardiology, or interventional radiology.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
- Valid New Jersey medical license .
- Proven experience in perioperative care, critical care, or hospital-based anesthesiology settings.
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms; familiarity with medical imaging interpretation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of advanced airway management techniques and ventilator operation.
- Experience with diverse specialties including cardiology, neurology, obstetrics (labor & delivery), ophthalmology, dermatology, or interventional radiology is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and clinical research protocols.
- Ability to work independently during nocturnal shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
