Physician Practice Enhancement is seeking an Experienced Board Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a position at a hospital in New Brunswick, NJ

Schedules available 10hr, 12hr, 16hr and 24hr weekend

Will consider Full time/Part Time or Per Diem

No call from Home

M-F 7a-7p $350 hr

M-F 7p-7a $400hr

24 hr weekend $425hr

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our specialized medical team. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care for pediatric patients across various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in perioperative care, airway management, and pediatric critical care, ensuring safe and effective anesthesia services tailored to the unique needs of children. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic and EMR systems is essential to facilitate seamless patient documentation and care coordination. Duties

  • Administer anesthesia to pediatric patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal safety and comfort.
  • Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, and anesthesia depth throughout procedures, adjusting as necessary.
  • Manage airway interventions, including intubation and ventilator support such as neonatal ventilators and ventilators for critical care patients.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams across specialties such as pediatric cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, and oncology to develop individualized anesthesia plans.
  • Conduct preoperative assessments and evaluate patient history, including medical records review and patient assessment for suitability of anesthesia.
  • Oversee post-operative recovery in settings like PACU or ICU, managing acute pain management strategies and wound care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems like Epic or other healthcare IT platforms in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in clinical research trials or quality improvement initiatives related to pediatric anesthesiology.
  • Provide education on perioperative care, sedation protocols, and pain management tailored for pediatric patients.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Anesthesiology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state or region.
  • Extensive experience in pediatric anesthesiology, including familiarity with neonatal ventilators, pediatric neuropsychology assessments, and Level I or II trauma center environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic and EMR systems; experience with CPT coding and ICD coding is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology related to anesthetic agents, airway management techniques, and pain medicine.
  • Experience in perioperative care across various subspecialties including cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, reproductive endocrinology, and critical care settings such as ICU or NICU.
  • Ability to perform procedures like spinal taps, suturing, gastric lavage, and catheterization when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and patient families.
