POSITION SUMMARY: The House Cleaner provides essential support services to Comanche Elders by maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary and welcoming home environment. This position plays a critical role in promoting elder’s health, comfort, dignity, and independence. The House Cleaner performs routine and deep cleaning tasks in elder’s homes while respecting cultural values, personal privacy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate is dependable, respectful, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality service to elders in a professional and compassionate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties listed below are representative of the work performed. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

CLEANING AND SANITATION

  • Clean and sanitize kitchens, including countertops, sinks, appliances, and floors.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all designated living areas.
  • Remove trash and recycling and ensure proper disposal.
  • Change bed linens when assigned and assist with light household upkeep.
  • Restock basic cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.

SAFETY & QUALITY STANDARDS

  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
  • Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures, trip hazards).
  • Ensure work meets Comanche Nation quality standards and caregiver services guidelines.

ELDER’S CARE & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding elders’ personal information and living conditions.
  • Respect elders’ homes, belongings, and cultural values at all times.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with elders, family members, and staff.
  • Work independently while following assigned schedules and instructions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES & REPORTING

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Reports directly to Caregivers and Angels Coordinator.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Tribal Administrator.

REPORTS TO: The Angel’s Support /House Cleaner Caregivers/Angels Coordinator.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and manual tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25-40 pounds as needed.
  • Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and communication ability to perform job duties safely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed in elders’ private homes and Comanche Nation facilities.
  • Environment requires professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for elders’ privacy.
  • Exposure to cleaning products and routine household environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred; training will be provided.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
  • Trustworthy, respectful, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work with elders in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or able to obtain within 90 days)
  • Understanding of elder care needs and service documentation.
  • Ability to work respectfully with tribal elders and families.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced working with elders or in caregiving, healthcare, or social service environment.
  • Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices and sanitation standards.
  • Familiarity with elder care environment is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment and drug test.

Must be willing to submit to and pass a thorough background investigation.

Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the CN Motor Vehicle Policy.
