We are seeking a Board Certified Angio-Interventional Radiologist to provide onsite physician services to veterans at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. This is a long-term contract opportunity with stable hours and meaningful impact.

Position Summary

The selected physician will provide comprehensive interventional radiology services in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines and VA standards of care. This includes direct patient care during normal clinic hours, on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and related administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a full scope of interventional radiology procedures, including angiography, embolization, TIPS placement, dialysis access, biopsies, line insertions, radiofrequency ablation, biliary interventions, and more.
  • Provide consultation and follow-up for referring physicians and patients.
  • Be present onsite during clinic hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) and available for on-call coverage during off-hours with rapid response times.
  • Comply with all VA directives, HIPAA regulations, infection control policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, peer reviews, and quality improvement programs as required by the VA facility.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records using VA’s electronic health record systems.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. with current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Board Certification in Radiology with subspecialty training/experience in Interventional Radiology (American Board of Radiology).
  • Current DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Credentialing and privileging with VA Medical Center prior to start date.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Up-to-date immunizations and infection control clearances (PPD, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza).
  • Must meet all VA onboarding and mandatory training requirements.

Contract Term & Schedule

  • Period of Performance: April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2031
  • Hours: 1.0 FTE (approximately 2,080 hours annually) plus on-call obligations
  • On-Call: Evenings, weekends, and holidays with required response times (15 minutes by phone, 60 minutes onsite)

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Potential for renewal and long-term engagement
  • Malpractice coverage provided in accordance with contract terms
