Job Description:

As the 2D Animator, you will be rigging and animating characters (face + body) for short-format cinematic animated movies. Starting from provided character designs (illustrations), you will build functional rigs in Adobe Animate CC and bring them to life through expressive facial emotions, body gestures, and smooth cinematic motion.

Responsibilities:

• Rig and animate 2D characters (face + body) in Adobe Animate CC for cinematic short-format reels and movies.
• Create rigs from provided illustrations (body parts, facial features) to ensure flexibility for expressive animation.
• Animate dialogues, lip-sync, gestures, and emotional beats in a soulful, cinematic style.
• Collaborate with illustrators, concept artists, and the director to preserve storytelling intent.
• Prepare animation assets for compositing and final edit.
• Iterate quickly on feedback from the director and animation team.
• Maintain consistency in rig quality, animation style, timing, and visual storytelling across episodes.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of proven experience rigging and animating characters in Adobe Animate CC (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of anime-style acting, expressions, and timing.
• Ability to create clean, functional rigs suitable for cinematic motion.
• Skilled in lip-sync, body mechanics, and smooth transitions.
• Eye for cinematic flow, rhythm, and storytelling.
• Reliable, disciplined, and able to work within deadlines.

Note: This is not a frame-by-frame animation role. Rigging + animation skills in Animate CC are essential.

Nice-to-Have:

• Freshers with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply.
• Background in cinematic animation, anime-inspired or storytelling-heavy projects.
• Experience with VFX, motion graphics, or compositing.

Additional Requirements

• Must share a strong portfolio (ArtStation, Behance, or similar) showcasing character rigs and animation (facial expressions, lip-sync, full-body movement).
• At least one example of a rigged character animation (front, side, or ¾ view) created in Adobe Animate CC.
• Strong understanding of rig building (symbols, pivots, hierarchy, layer setup) and smooth animation workflow.
• Solid grasp of timing, anticipation, squash-and-stretch, and emotional storytelling in a cinematic style.
• Demonstrated ability to animate beyond basic looping cycles (focus on expressive performance).

A short animation test will be required to assess expressions, timing, and storytelling clarity.
