POSITION SUMMARY:

The person in this position is in the AOG department, which runs twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week. This person is responsible for the procurement and distribution of aircraft materials, parts, equipment, and supplies. Responsibilities include negotiating pricing for goods and services to ensure purchases are cost competitive and processing purchase orders for Aircraft and Engine parts in support of Amerijet’ s fleet requirements; including but not limited to AOG(s), DMI(s), Scheduled Maintenance Events, Engineering Orders, etc. This is accomplished by working within the company programs and having a working knowledge of Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Engineering. The Buyer, AOG Logistics role has direct communication with Maintenance Control regarding critical AOG purchase orders and other parts status.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

  • Process purchases orders for Aircraft and Engine parts in support of Amerijet’ s fleet requirements; including but not limited to AOG(s), DMI(s), Scheduled Maintenance Events, Engineering Orders, etc.
  • Evaluate suppliers’ services on price, quality, operation support, availability, reliability, and selection.
  • Prepare reports and review summary invoices for accuracy to correct discrepancies and ensure payment terms are met including transportation charges.
  • Ensure parts are expedited against open AOG orders from suppliers to ensure AOG orders are met.
  • Maintain direct communication with Maintenance Control regarding critical AOG purchase orders and ensure timely response to MEL requirements.
  • Ensure that all materials procured meet Amerijet International Airlines and FAA quality standards.
  • Provide part status movement, alternative plans, and other material issues as required.
  • Provide material planning recommendations to Inventory Management.
  • Alert management to any irregularities of material requisitions and vendor improprieties.
  • Submit and track purchase orders on approved suppliers. Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, and shipping notices.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Materials/Receiving Department on receipt of purchase orders; resolves any discrepancies with vendors on quantity, pricing, or documentation.
  • Negotiate reductions based on the analysis of quotes.
  • Handle multiple time-sensitive tasks and perform in a stressful environment
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Related field with 1-2 years technical purchasing experience or Equivalent combination of education and Job experience.
  • Must possess strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial responsibilities, including:
    • Knowledge of commercial terms, including Incoterms and related conditions
    • Understanding of contractual agreement terms, such as warranty and liability clauses
    • Familiarity with payment terms and methods (e.g., Net 10, Net 30, ACH, wire transfers)
    • Awareness of cash flow dynamics and strategies to minimize financial impact on the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, adapt and work with people of various backgrounds and cultures.
  • Self-initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • A customer service-minded problem solver, able to challenge the status quo and overcome obstacles, question outdated practices and remove barriers in order to develop effective solutions to existing problems.
  • Highly motivated, stress resistant and result oriented.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hr day or night shifts, covering 24/7 business needs, including the weekends.
  • Able to obtain SIDA badge.
  • Does not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. Legally eligible to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet’s insurance standards.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new team members.


Language Skills:

The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.


Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:

Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort is required.

Must be able to work well under pressure. Domestic/International travel and overtime are required when necessary.
