We are seeking an energetic and dedicated AP Biology Instructor to inspire and guide students through the journey of mastering standardized tests. This role involves providing one-on-one tutoring sessions to students of all levels, with a focus on helping them succeed academically. Tutors will work flexible hours, with the opportunity to adjust schedules based on individual availability and parent preferences. MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN UNITED STATES.
Duties
- Deliver dynamic, interactive lessons focused on SAT and ACT test strategies, content review, and practice exercises
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs, including special education accommodations
- Utilize various learning technologies to enhance instruction and student engagement
- Assess student progress regularly through formative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support improvement
- Manage classroom environments effectively, maintaining discipline and encouraging respectful collaboration
- Plan lessons that incorporate presentation skills, writing techniques, math concepts, and critical thinking strategies
- Support students in developing effective study habits and test-taking techniques to maximize their scores
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, with a strong understanding of test formats and scoring methods
- Background in math, writing, or related academic areas with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Certified Teacher status is required.
- Classroom experience is preferred.
- Ability to establish rapport with students and communicate effectively with parents.
- Must be US ITIZEN OR GREEN CARD HOLDER
- Dependable, flexible, and organized.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and curriculum development for diverse learners
- Experience working with students of varying ages, including adult education settings or special education programs
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to motivate students and foster an engaging learning environment
- Proficiency in using learning technology tools for lesson delivery and assessment purposes
- Excellent written communication skills for lesson planning, student feedback, and instructional materials
