AP History Teacher

• Lighten Academy has immediate openings for enthusiastic and experienced teachers in AP US History and AP World History to join our team. We are looking for people with impeccable testing preparation skills, well-developed communication skills, and a spark that will engage students. This is an on-site job.

Qualifications

• Discipline-specific bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education preferred
• Teaching certification or eligibility is preferred
• Ability to work as part of a high-performing team, including exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated belief that all children deserve an excellent education

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for all lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and other instructional materials and methods of teaching in your classroom
• Collect, report, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data about students and refine lesson plans accordingly
• Support a school culture of high academic standards and behavioral standards grounded in restorative practices, with the aim of creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
