Apartment Leasing Agent - Experienced

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Apartment Leasing Agent to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leasing, customer service, and property management operations. This role involves managing leasing processes, fostering positive resident relationships, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. The Leasing Agent will play a key role in attracting and retaining tenants while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Duties

  • Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours, highlighting features and amenities to facilitate leasing decisions
  • Manage the leasing process from application to move-in, including conducting background checks and verifying eligibility
  • Prepare and review lease agreements, contracts, and legal documentation in accordance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law
  • Utilize Yardi, OneSite, and other property management software for data entry, tenant record keeping, and rent collection
  • Handle inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professional office etiquette to promote positive customer relationships
  • Upsell available units or additional services to prospective tenants to maximize occupancy rates
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for property upkeep and address resident concerns promptly
  • Maintain organized filing systems for legal documents, lease agreements, and compliance records
  • Assist with conflict management between tenants or staff to ensure a harmonious community environment
  • Stay informed on local housing laws, Fair Housing regulations, and Section 8 program requirements to ensure compliance

Experience

  • Proven experience in property leasing or real estate administrative roles with a focus on residential properties
  • Familiarity with LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or comparable systems (CMMS experience is a plus)
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstrated ability in sales, negotiation, contract management, and upselling techniques
  • Office experience including data entry, filing, administrative support, and facilities management is desirable
  • Prior experience working within property maintenance coordination or facilities management is advantageous

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
