Key Responsibilities
- Personal Supports: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Companionship: Provide meaningful social interaction and support for community-based activities.
- Skill Development: Implement support plans designed to improve the client’s independence and life skills.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, daily progress notes and incident reports in compliance with APD (Agency for Persons with Disabilities) standards.
- Safety: Ensure a safe environment and provide non-medical supervision as outlined in the client’s support plan.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (required).
- Certifications: Active APD-required training (Direct Care Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, and HIPAA).
- Background Check: Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening.
- CPR/First Aid: Valid certification required.
- Reliability: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and a patient, person-centered approach to care.
