API Specialist (Customer Relations / IT)

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled API Specialist to join our IT team. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and client-facing support, requiring both strong programming capabilities and excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate is a problem solver who can confidently engage with clients, troubleshoot API-related issues, and provide ongoing technical support while continuously improving system performance and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for API-related client interactions
  • Attend and lead API client calls, providing clear explanations and solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API issues, bugs, and integration challenges
  • Provide external IT support to clients, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement fixes and improvements
  • Monitor API performance and generate reports on issues, resolutions, and trends
  • Assist in debugging, maintaining, and enhancing API functionality
  • Support ongoing development efforts and contribute to system optimization
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI tools and integrations

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • PHP
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • Experience working with APIs (RESTful services, integrations, troubleshooting)
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Strong understanding of backend systems and data flow
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting directly with clients in a professional setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a client-facing technical role (support, implementation, solutions engineering)
  • Familiarity with AI tools, automation, or integrations
  • Experience with debugging tools, logging systems, and performance monitoring
  • Knowledge of databases and system integrations

Why This Role Matters

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
