About RocParty

RocParty is a fast-growing party retail brand expanding into the U.S. market in 2026. With an established e-commerce presence on Amazon and our DTC site (rocparty.com), we are now launching our physical retail stores across Northern California, with plans to scale into a national multi-store chain over the next 3–5 years.

We design, develop, and sell costumes, party wear, accessories, and seasonal products for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and other major holidays. Our mission is to bring fresh, trend-driven, and culturally relevant party products to American consumers.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a talented Apparel & Costume Designer to join us and lead seasonal costume and party wear design for our U.S. market. This is an ideal engagement for an experienced designer who wants creative ownership over an emerging brand's seasonal collections, while maintaining the flexibility of independent work.

You'll translate U.S. market trends, pop culture moments, and seasonal themes into commercially viable costume and party wear collections.

Scope of Work

  • Design original seasonal apparel collections, including Halloween costumes, Christmas-themed wear, Valentine's Day pieces, and other holiday-driven categories
  • Conduct U.S. market and trend research, identifying culturally relevant themes, IP opportunities, and pop culture moments that drive seasonal demand
  • Develop technical sketches, flat drawings, and design specifications suitable for handoff to manufacturing partners
  • Collaborate with our development team on fabric selection, fit, construction, and trim direction
  • Review samples and provide feedback to ensure design intent is preserved through production
  • Contribute creative direction across collections, including mood boards, concept presentations, and seasonal storytelling
  • Stay current on competitive landscape (Spirit Halloween, Disguise, Target seasonal, Hot Topic, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of professional apparel design experience (dresses, fashion apparel, intimates, costumes, or related softlines categories)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating original apparel design work, including technical drawings and finished product examples
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern fundamentals, and production-ready specifications
  • Strong sense of color, silhouette, fabric, and trim selection
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently across time zones
  • Based in the United States with valid work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience designing costumes, party wear, holiday-themed apparel, or licensed character apparel
  • Experience working with retail brands, mass-market apparel, or seasonal product categories
  • Understanding of U.S. seasonal retail calendars and product launch cycles

Compensation & Engagement

  • Engagement type: 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Location: Fully remote, U.S.-based
  • Monthly engagement fee: $4,000–$5,000 (commensurate with experience and project scope)
  • Performance incentives: Additional milestone payments tied to commercial success of designed collections;
