Position Overview

As an Apparel Designer, you will conceptualize, sketch, and execute collection ideas that resonate with our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate has design and garment construction experience across a wide range of apparel categories, drives design development, and demonstrates a keen eye for macro trends and market shifts while being passionate about garment innovation.

Accountabilities

  • Conceptualize, accurately sketch, and execute collection ideas that represent the target customer.
  • Design original, commercially viable collections.
  • Implement and maintain calendars for multiple projects to ensure all milestones and deadlines are successfully fulfilled.
  • Research materials and components.
  • Oversee product fit sessions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors through the design and product development cycle.
  • Prioritize workload and complex workstreams across multiple projects.
  • Work closely with leadership and cross-divisional partners to ensure alignment on priorities and direction.
  • Research and analyze current market, as well as upcoming garment, fabric and manufacturing innovations.
  • Support non-garment related special design projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel design preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in the fashion design industry.
  • Strong ability in both hand-sketching and digital sketching.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Profound understanding of industry trends, fabric development, and selection.
  • Capacity to handle a high volume of styles.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while delivering appropriate details for various client groups.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills for independent work and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A “learn-it-all” mentality with a curiosity to research and implement new ideas and design approaches.
