THE ROLE
The Apparel Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining efficient machine operation, completing daily production goals, management of staff and inter-department communications related to our apparel production department, while meeting on-time delivery expectations.

Organize daily work based on scheduling priorities, staffing, machine efficiencies and order types.

Confirm all order assets and materials are available to press operators in advance of the order being placed on the press.

Monitor jobs on the press to ensure maximum efficiency and quality.

Lead in the creation and execution of staff training and ongoing education.

Assist the art department in determining print capabilities and limitations.

Assist in the hiring of new staff

Lead the employee performance review process.

Work with the screen department to determine strategies for the best quality decoration.

Maintain staff adherence to schedule, safety programs and machine operations.

Review open orders to insure they meet all necessary production criteria

Works with the Scheduling Manager to determine most efficient work flow to meet customer due dates

Communicates with Scheduling Manager regarding capacity, progress on schedule, and estimated time to complete production.

Works with Sales, Art and Production staff to meet customer expectations

Works with Production Manager to maximize efficiency, research new print techniques and insure proper labor allocation.

Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
THE ESSENTIALS
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Three years of production or supervisory experience in a screen print environment required.
-
Strong work ethic with a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
-
Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.
-
Proficiency in research and resolution skills, as well as documentation skills.
-
Experience with Microsoft Office products, MAC preferred.
-
Knowledge of basic mathematics required.
-
Ability to understand basic written and oral instructions.

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions in verbal and written format, both internally and externally.

Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.

Ability to work independently and be highly motivated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to safely complete 50-pound PILE test or greater.

Ability to occasionally lift/lower 15-48 pounds, carry 20-48 pounds, push/pull (force exerted) 48-68 pounds.

Ability to perform physical activities that require frequent walking and standing, occasional sitting, change of position, reaching (extended hands/arms), reach across mid-line, fingering (pinch/pick), feeling (perceive attributes of objects), crouching/squatting (bend legs/spine), crawling, balancing, stooping (bend at waist), kneeling, stairs, ramp, ladder, arm/hand, leg/foot, simple grasp (grasp lightly), firm grasp (use pressure/force) and fine manipulation.

Ability to lift/lower/carry cases of glassware, pallets, lifting above shoulder height.

Ability to perceive small details on product at arm’s length distance.

Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of fingers, arms, legs and moving your whole body such as pushing, pulling, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling various materials.

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Ability to safely operate a forklift and scissor-lift.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Apparel Production Supervisor may work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable and cramped positions, or on ladders.
