Application Engineer
Kraft Power Corp, a leading distributor of Diesel Engines, Gas Engines, Power Generation, Marine Engines and Power Transmission Products, throughout the Eastern and Midwestern United States, has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer at our Massillon, Ohio facility. The Person filling this position will become an integral part of our Engineering Department and the Kraft Power family and assist in the overall development and design of diesel power units, electrical generator sets, and OEM specific products, as required by our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team, or at times individually, in the design of engine-driven products, from concept to test, to meet customer expectations.
- Collaborate with Sales and Production departments, in the development of new products and improvements to existing products, based on customer requirements and feedback.
- Assist in the development and performance of test procedures for new products, to determine reliability, performance, and safety protocol, based on specific applications.
- Assist the engineering team in all phases of product design and development, including drawings, BOM creation, part number identification, QC, and assembly procedures, as well as in the development of specific customer required documentation.
- Work with suppliers, as necessary, to ensure selection of quality components for use in our packages.
- Occasional travel to our customers’ facilities, to assist the sales team in reviewing specific project requirements, participate in product design presentations, as well as assisting in the performance of installation & application reviews, as required by the engine manufacturers we represent.
- Actively participate in company and manufacturer provided training opportunities.
- Stay current on industry regulations and trends related to design, manufacturing, and support components.

Requirements:
- Associates degree in CAD Design or 3 years’ experience with 3D CAD design.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an engineering support role. Prior experience working with Diesel Engine powered equipment preferred.
- Prior experience with the design and application of mobile construction or agricultural equipment helpful. Marine and Power Generation experience a plus.
- Must possess the ability to work as part of a closely knit team, with the team focusing on the success of the final project, and complete customer satisfaction. We win as a team. No room for egos.
- Must possess above average attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle multiple project tasks to meet established deadlines.
- Must possess good verbal, phone, and interpersonal skills, with job-appropriate proficiency in the English language.
- Must be able to climb stairs, stand for long periods of time, and lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and MVR check
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
