Application Engineer - HVAC

The company specializes in the design, supply, installation, and servicing of HVAC systems, supported by a comprehensive range of MEP services including ventilation, ducting, electrical works, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Study tender documents, project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and contractual requirements related to HVAC systems.
• Carry out HVAC heat load calculations using approved software such as HAP (Hourly Analysis Program) and other engineering tools.
• Perform system design, equipment sizing, and selection in compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and international standards.
• Prepare and submit technical submittals, data sheets, compliance statements, and material approval documents.
• Prepare Method Statements (MAS), technical calculations, and engineering documentation in coordination with project and site teams.
• Prepare and process Material Request Notes (MRNs) in coordination with project, procurement, and site teams.
• Coordinate with principals, manufacturers, and suppliers for equipment selection, technical clarifications, and approvals.
• Provide technical support to estimation, sales, and project execution teams during tendering and post-award stages.
• Review and verify shop drawings, coordination drawings, layouts, and schedules for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Assist site teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover stages.
• Attend technical meetings, coordination meetings, inspections, and discussions with consultants, clients, and contractors.
• Support value engineering proposals, alternative solutions, and cost-optimization initiatives where applicable.
• Ensure timely preparation, submission, and tracking of all engineering documents in line with project schedules.
• Maintain proper documentation control and adhere to company engineering procedures and quality requirements.
• Perform assignments and/or duties related to the field of competence as directed by the Department Head.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• 4-6 years of experience in HVAC application engineering, including system design, load calculations, and equipment selection.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Good analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
